Lead indicators pointing to economic recovery together with good corporate results lend support to the market. However high risk appetite means that the market is still vulnerable to disappointment. Valuation-wise, these seem to have priced in higher earnings expectations and look reasonable. Nonetheless, the debt burden across the G20 countries is high and this will depress top line growth. Interestingly, only 35% of revenue earned by UK companies is derived from the UK itself - geographic diversification of sources of revenue is a plus for investing in UK equities.
